BCBG Sales Are Worth It

BCBG Sale Up To 70% Off

I like BCBG - their clothes are pretty and feminine and made pretty well. I have a pair of their slingbacks that I bought maybe 5 years ago that's still in pretty good condition. I've had to repair the heels once or twice, but that's a given, particularly in NY. However, I usually refrain from buying their clothes because I think it's a bit overpriced. I could justify spending $200 on a pair of jeans that I'll wear a bazillion times but not on a silk shirt that I'll wear maybe 5 times before I get sick of it or spill vodka cranberry on.

HOWEVER, when they are having a sale, BCBG is totally worth it.

Like this:

Pair it with a short skirt or skinny pants to not look like a schoolmarm. Unless you are a schoolmarm, which in that case, hello, take a time machine back to the 21st century.
Dot Jacquard Silk Top $41.40

Okay, I don't get the whole coat without sleeves thing, but I zoomed in on this and it's really cute. I would totally wear this in the winter with a turtleneck sweater underneath. Or even some arm warmers over bare arms.
Runway Wool Twill Coat $197.40

Jacquard Origami Dress $129 with an extra 30% off at checkout

How can I resist a skirt named after one of my favorite beers?
Stella High Waisted Skirt $99 with an extra 30% off at checkout

You would think that something with the words "ombre" and "plaid" would be hideous but even after I zoomed in on this, it didn't make my eyes bleed. In fact, I quite liked it. Huzzah!
Tara Ombre Plaid Jacket $98.40

I love looking naked while really not.
Silk/Wool Dress $87.00

This could be the answer to not dropping purses and breaking valuable things, eg: my new camera on Halloween. I'm just saying.
Signature Bow Wristlet $32.40

Oh yeah, free shipping when you spend over $200. Enter Ship09 at checkout.

Dust Off The Credit Cards, Mama's Going Shopping!

For a couple of months, hubby was sans job and sadly, I have had to lay off the shopping for more practical things like food and bills. Boring! However, despite the bad economy, hubby has landed a nice job which means one thing..shopping for meeeeee!!!! Oh shopping, how I have missed thee! I missed the awful fluorescent lighting in dressing rooms, the smell of the leather as wallets are opened, the sound of cash registers ringing up frivolous purchases that I don't need, the stoic, depressed face of my UPS guy as he hands me the signing pad, on which I scribble something unintelligible as I run upstairs with glee to open my new finds.

In honor of this occassion, I have decided to write about one of my faaaave (and more expensive) shopping sites: eluxury.com. Yes, I cannot afford to buy a $2000 Roberto Cavalli dress, but I CAN buy some of the things on sale!

You can do your last dance with these Mary Janes. No, not the kind you smoke, you crackhead! The kind you wear on your feet!
Marc by Marc Jacobs Two-Tone Mary Janes $159.00

Okay, if I'm wearing heels this high, they have to be stacked.
Derek Lam Penelope Perforated Sandal $359.00

If you carry your whole life in your bag like I do, this is perfect. Now if I could just find my pet hamster...
Dior Gypsy Extra Large Zipped Hobo $919.00

This doubles as a weapon at sample sales. "Don't make me knock you upside yo head beeyotch!"
Roberto Cavalli Jeweled Cuff Bracelet $329.00

Janescloset.com has these really comfy, laid back pieces that are great for layering or wearing on their own. Their site is super user friendly also. You can scroll your mousey over the images and it tells you the price and what sizes are available. There's nothing worse than clicking on something you love only to find it in a size 0 or 12. Or worse: sold out. AARGH!

Anyway, janescloset is offering Peekabag readers 20% off ALL items! Just type in "jess20" at checkout.

Here are some of the items that I lurrrve.
Fresh Karma White Babydoll Tank Dress $92.00

Hype Grasses Cotton Twill Bow Dress $94.99

Charlotte Ronson Tunic with Beaded Neckline $94.99

Rory Beca Milk Silk Charmeuse Ruffle Top $149.99

Celebrate History Being Made By Doing Some Shopping (hey you're helping the economy)

Topshop and Shopbop (Say That Three Times)

When I think of Topshop, I think of Londoners on cobble stoned streets wearing chic clothes and taking the tube going to the pub for drinks after work and snogging a cute bloke after getting smashed. But wait! If you're saying, Rats,I want to be that girl, it could SO be you! You can TOTALLY buy Topshop clothes on their website because they have a US version. And soon, there's going to be a physical store in NYC! So instead of the cobble stoned streets in London, you can be on cobble stoned streets in the Meat Packing District, and instead of the tube, you'll be on the subway and go to the lounge instead of pub and will make out with a cute dude. Okay, did I have to translate everything for you? Sheesh, go and learn the language yourself!

Here are some stuff from their sale section of their website:

These zippers on this denim buckle dress make for easy access you cheeky tart. $60.00

I love bubble hems. Pintuck Puffball Dress $50

Okay I dunno how you go to the bathroom in this but it's so cute! If only it came with snap buttons on the crotch. Corsette Panelle Playsuit $60

Cut Out Shoulder Tunic $20

They call sweaters jumpers. Those crazy Brits!
Knitted Jumper $20

Some new items on sale at Shopbop:

Marc by Marc Jacobs Cosmo Jacquard Dress $179

Anna Sui Swirl Velvet Dress $147.90

Ella Moss Felicity Dress $66

Another Good Thing About Mondays Are the Holidays

Now that I'm not in school anymore and I don't need to know what day it is, I totally didn't realize today was Martin Luther King Jr. Day until last night! I love that most holidays are on Mondays. Whoever thought up that idea was a genius. I personally think 5 day workweeks are barbaric. Well, after sitting here for 5 minutes, I don't know how to segue into shopping. Leeme 'lone I haven't finished my coffee yet. Bzlriewptpw.t$%03.

Anthropologie is one of those stores where I walk in and I see some weird ass things like REALLY REALLY wide leg jeans and I say,"Who would wear THAT?" but then I see really pretty prairie skirts and ruffly tops and then my faith in humanity is restored.

Here are some non-weird things from their sale section:

Multitudes Top $39.95

Spruce and Moon Cardigan $89.95

Alloy Strapless Dress $99.95

Can you tell I like white dresses?
Tomgirl Dress $99.95

I love wide-legs pants. Just not SUPER WIDE ones. These are just wide enough.
Tailor-made Trousers $79.95

You can march to the beat of your own drummer in these:
Band Leader Knee Socks $9.95

Birds freak me out but I would wear this:
Animal Portrait Pendant $29.95

Revolve Clothing has lots of laid back, cottony type clothes, if you like that kind of style, which I do. Their site is also very shopper friendly. When you scroll over their items with your mouse, it tells you what sizes are available. That's great except for when I see something cute and it says out of stock. AARGH! I hate when that happens. Such a tease.

Velvet Racerback Tank $24.00

Ella Moss Lace Cami $25.00

So no one can see your coin slot when you bend over at the gym.
Degaine High Waisted Sweat Pants $28.00

NU Puff Sleeve Blouse $46.00

Rachel Pally Brittany Dress $54.00

I think if you wear a cape, it'll excuse you for a lot of stuff. Like, if you talk to yourself or are walking your pet ferret on a leash down 5th Avenue, people will just say, "Oh well, she is wearing a cape. What do you expect?"
Boessert-Schorn Cape $55.00

That's all for now. Happy shopping!
